April Build Update – Panelling, panelling and more panelling

Hello again everyone

Apologies for not updating sooner but here is the April update.

At the end of March I’d just received the GT40 chassis and in last months update I talked about the panelling I’d started and the process involved in making and fitting and aluminium panel for the chassis. During April the panelling has continued at a steady pace. It’s very time consuming process in order to ensure everything is marked, cut and fitted in the right place and all the rivets are spaced evenly.

This month has seen me produce aluminium panels for Sill tops, dash sides and most of the front section of the car. I also made a start on the rear bulkhead which is currently at a local fabricators having various folds put into it as it was too big for me to do myself.

Anyway here are a couple of pics taken throughout March

So as you can see I’ve had a fairly busy month working on the GT40 once again and May is already proving to be even busier. As always please check out my facebook page for the most up to date news on the build.
